New Jamf features available.
Jamf Pro 10, released in October 2017, brought a whole new experience with an improved interface, patch management and a brand new Self Service. Since the initial release of the 10 series, Jamf has aggressively added new capabilities to support new Apple features, and to give more power to IT admins. Here’s what’s new:
Microsoft Intune Integration (Jamf Pro 10.1)
The Jamf and Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) partnership delivers an automated compliance management solution and will help you secure Mac devices accessing applications set up with Azure AD authentication. Share inventory data from Jamf to Intune, apply conditional access for the Mac, and provide users an easy remediation path via Self Service.
External Patch Sources (Jamf Pro 10.2)
The patch management framework continued to evolve with this release. Jamf Pro customers can now leverage patch reporting, patch notifications and patch policies for any third-party or in-house software titles hosted on an external source.
Apple Spring Release (Jamf Pro 10.3)
Jamf is proud to announce day-zero support for the spring release of macOS 10.13.4, iOS 11.3 and tvOS 11.3. In addition to compatibility for the spring operating systems, Jamf Pro 10.3 also includes new features that support the latest payloads, restrictions and MDM commands.
- Managed Software Updates: With Jamf Pro and new versions of macOS and iOS, IT can now defer Apple software updates for up to 90 days, providing ample time to test employee workflows and provide excellent support for their internal users. Control when you want to upgrade your Mac and iOS devices.
- User-Approved MDM Support for Mac: Automatically create User-Approved enrollments through the new enrollment workflow in Jamf Pro, allowing IT to remotely manage security-sensitive settings like User-Approved Secure Kernel Extension Loading. New profiles, like Approved Kernel Extensions, require a macOS enrollment to be User Approved.
- Apple TV Enhancements: Restrict apps and media content based on age ratings and update an app while a device is in Single App Mode. Apple TV is now a more powerful platform for digital signs and conference rooms because IT is able to more easily push app updates directly to devices with minimal downtime.
- Apple Business Manager Support: Take advantage of Apple’s next generation platform which consolidates Apple’s Device Enrollment Program and Apple’s Volume Purchase Program (apps and books) into a single web portal for IT. This program is still in beta from Apple, and Jamf Pro 10.3 will offer initial compatibility.
