OS release dates and much more from Apple’s event

Get the latest Apple product and operating system news from their September 9th event in San Francisco.

The highly anticipated September 9th Apple event in San Francisco did not disappoint with spotlights on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch, and the upcoming OS release dates.

Peek and Pop with iPhone
With the crowd abuzz, Apple announced the latest versions of the revolutionary iPhone — iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The most advanced, powerful, and fastest smart phone in the world will now include pressure-sensitive navigation called 3D Touch. 3D Touch allows for “Peek and Pop” capabilities and lets iPhone users preview content without opening it. Another new feature of the iPhone is the ability to create Live Photos — making it possible to create animated photos.

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will ship with iOS 9, scheduled for release on September 16th. The new iPhones will be available for purchase on September 25th.

A bigger, better iPad
“Today we have the biggest news in iPad since the iPad,” said Apple CEO, Tim Cook. With that, the iPad Pro was unveiled to the world. This is the biggest iPad yet and boasts a 12.9-inch display, faster and more powerful performance, and two optional accessories.

Apple Pencil, an intuitive and precise stylus that senses direction, force, and tilt. And a Smart Keyboard that connects to the iPad via a magnetic port. The iPad Pro will be available in November.

Talk to your Apple TV
The new Apple TV comes with several enhancements, including an app store, a new remote with a touchpad, and a voice-recognition system for search and device operation. Users can now use Siri to search for their favorite program, movie, genre, director, or actor. The new Apple TV will be available in late October.

More to love about Apple watch
The next Apple Watch operating system—watchOS 2—will be available on September 16th with more faces to choose from, and faster and more powerful apps. Among the powerful apps are iTranslate, which allows the watch to translate over 90 languages, and Airstrip, a healthcare app that can receive and view vital information sent over to physicians by nurses and staff.

Ready your OS upgrades now
Although OS X El Capitan wasn’t singled out during the event, we were privileged to a sneak peek at the September 30th release date. With both iOS and OS X updates scheduled to drop in the coming weeks, see how you can prepare for and seamlessly upgrade your Apple devices with the help of the Casper Suite.
