OS X is very scriptable. We saw it in action as Paul Whitlock, founder and principal at Tarilon Technology Service, Inc. gave us a demonstration. He also bestowed nuggets of wisdom about naming conventions and cloning while encouraging us to remain open to the unexpected. He summed it all up perfectly with a line "scripted" by Oliver Wendell Holmes, "I would not give a fig for the simplicity on this side of complexity, but I would give my life for the simplicity on the other side of complexity."
