Has anyone used GroundControl to manage their iOS devices?

One of our directors is looking for an easier iPad deployment model than Apple Configurator. Just looking for real world experience with the product, plus pros and cons.

Thanks!

I have tried it. It looks like it is a good system. It essentially uses your USB ports (using an application) to remotely connect them to a host machine at Ground Control to do the supervision. This seems like it would be a great idea if you have techs around the country or in varying locations that do supervision. If it is just you I would say stick to supervising them on a Mac because you are paying per device if you go to Ground Control. The nice thing is if you go with them your information is always backed up without the worry of losing it. My biggest fear was losing a HDD or something and all of the information being gone, but where I am failures like that rarely happen.

Pro:
Constant backup
Lets you set config profiles Can have multiple people using from any location
Friendly UI
Can be used on Mac/Windows computers

Con:
Cost ~$12/yr device I believe
Slower (based on network connection)

That is all I have so far. Let me know if that was helpful :)
