The third and final beta build for our Spring 2016 Release of Casper Suite 9.9 is now available. We’ve been gearing up to offer zero-day support for Apple iOS 9.3, including innovative new features that will transform the classroom experience and the way all organizations manage mobile devices.

The third beta build of Casper Suite 9.9 brings additional support for iOS 9.3, including new iOS MDM commands and additional work on integrations with Apple’s Classroom App and Shared iPad for Education. The third build includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • New MDM Commands for iOS 9.3 supervised devices, which are expected to be available to customers after the release of iOS 9.3. If you participate in Apple’s Developer Program for iOS 9.3 beta 3, you may have access to test some of these new features. For more information on Apple’s Developer Program, go to https://developer.apple.com/ios/download/. New Casper Suite 9.9 MDM commands include:
    • Enable and disable Lost Mode on iOS devices to lock an iOS device, view the status of the locked device’s location, and notify the end user that a location was collected.
    • Ability to customize the lock screen message on an iOS device to display information such as an address (however, this feature is not fully functional at this time).
  • A new option to deploy B2B apps from the App Store (however, this feature is not fully functional at this time).
  • Additional support for Apple iOS 9.3’s new education features, including Shared iPad and Apple Classroom App, which are expected to be available to education customers after the release of iOS 9.3.
  • Functionality from our first and second Casper Suite 9.9 beta builds, including new iOS 9.3 configuration profiles, enhancements to the device enrollment process, admin account creation, deployment of content in the cloud, and several defect fixes.

Please enroll at the beta homepage on JAMF Nation under My Assets. After enrollment, please reference our Release Notes for a listing of what is included in the third round of functionality and whether you meet all of the requirements for testing. Remember this is a beta release. We strongly encourage you not install this software in a production environment. Also, the beta program is operated under non-disclosure, so please do not share any information regarding your testing in any public forum including the non-beta sections of JAMF Nation. Use the JAMF Nation Beta forums or contact your JAMF buddy with any questions or reported issues regarding the beta. Thank you to all those who participate in the program. It is fantastic to get your early feedback.
