I didn't even realize I was having the spotlight CPU issue until this post, which made me go look, and lo and behold, we're having the same issue. The fix outlined in the article fixed it for me, too.

This fixed Spotlight for me as well. Also, it was the only way I could reliably enforce the screen lock after sleep or screen saver. Thanks @bentoms for this.
