Java 9?

Hello, is there any boon/bane for upgrading the JSS to use Java 9?

First time I'm hearing about Java 9's release. This is the last version that will support Java applets or plugins of any kind, since they are now officially deprecated by Oracle. Good riddance.

I have been pondering replaceing Java 8 JRE with Java 9 JRE here at my company. I just realized Java 10 has replaced Java 9 already (talk about a "very short shelf life" - wow). I cant even find the Java 9 JRE download any longer (as of April 2018).

Java 10 appears to be working OK with (almost) everything in my environment thus far.

I dont have any softare or services requiring Java 10, so I may sit on version 8 as long as it is supported.
