Jamf pro 10 with clients running 10.9.5

I read somewhere that when upgrading to Jamf pro 10, any clients under 10.10 will be running self-service 9.101. Is there anything I need to do before upgrading in regards to this or will it just work?

From the KB it sounds like you don't have todo anything, unless you're manually installing self service.

Yep, it will just figure it out according to the docs. +3

What surprises me is that 10.7 and 10.8 Macs should stay with Self-Service 9.96. But it looks as if our 10.7 and 10.8 Macs either already updated themselves to 9.101, or gave up talking to the JSS. I always had the impression that the JSS would not accept connections from clients that are not on the same JAMF version as the JSS. So is this new that the JSS accepts that some clients 'stay behind' with the JAMF version? And why should 10.7 and 10.8 clients not migrate to 9.101? Or will a JAMF 10 JSS tell a 10.7 macOS client to running JAMF 9.101 to downgrade to 9.96?

I don't remember having seen this compatibility matrix before. Did I just miss it or is it really new?

Seems we will have a lengthy test phase for JAMF 10.
