iOS device switch-out question.....

I have an iPad cart of 30 iPads that are being replaced. My question is about the apps that are assigned to them. They're assigned by device, not user, etc.

Can I just delete the old iPads from the jss and the apps will return to the count, then when the new ones are scoped they'll receive the apps?

In my opinion you should unscope the apps from your 30 departing devices, and then scope the apps to the new devices.
