The Jamf Pro 10.8 beta includes a number of new features and product enhancements. It also brings the Classroom app to macOS devices and delivers support for remote OS updates for tvOS devices.

Configuration Profiles prior to Setup Assistant
IT admins can now deploy configuration profiles to Supervised iOS and tvOS devices prior to Setup Assistant completing. This is a major step forward for on boarding new employees and hardware. When activated, this feature will keep the device in the Setup Assistant workflow until the assigned profiles finish installing, preventing users from seeing the home screen before all applicable configuration profiles are installed.

Enable Activation Lock outside of enrollment
Jamf Pro 10.7 delivered the ability to enable Activation Lock during PreStage enrollment on devices managed with Apple Business Manager and Apple School Manager. The Jamf Pro 10.8 beta builds on that functionality, allowing admins to enable Activation Lock outside of PreStage enrollment entirely. This allows admins to take advantage of Activation Lock without needing to wipe and re-enroll devices, and also prevents end users from enabling Activation Lock on their own.

Inventory Preload
A new global setting that allows an admin to preload mobile device inventory details by uploading a CSV file. Each time inventory is collected, Jamf Pro checks the preloaded inventory details for records that match a device’s serial number. The Jamf Pro inventory details for that device are then updated according to the preloaded data.

Classroom app for macOS
Classroom app on macOS devices: The Classroom app is now supported on macOS devices. Previously, teachers using the Classroom app were restricted to iOS devices.

tvOS remote update
Remote operating system updates are now available for tvOS devices. This is a huge time-saver for anyone managing or considering deploying tvOS devices.
