Hidden partition used for storing default software

Hey All, I was wanting to get the community's thoughts on Storing default Software on a hidden partition. Was toying with the idea of having our warehouse add a small 10-15GB hidden partition that stored 10 or so apps that are installed on every computer. This is more for new hardware deploys. Warehouse adds partition and then sends the computer out to the tech wherever they are. Could be local to the HQ or remote at a satellite office. Tech receives the computer and boots the machine up and follows the thin provisioning process. But instead of the default apps installing from a distribution point it installs the apps from the hidden software partition. This would help with bandwidth issues in remote sites as well as speedier provisioning for the techs or user.

Thoughts?

Pros and cons?

Possibility of leveraging that same hidden partition for caching software local before installing as well.
