In typical Adobe inconsistent fashion, if you follow Adobe's recommendations and use Remote Update Manager on a regular basis to keep your Creative Cloud applications patched, Lightroom Classic will be updated from 8.x to 9.x, which was released as part of Adobe Creative Cloud 2020.
Your other Adobe Creative Cloud applications will not be updated by RUM to their 2020 versions.
This happened last year too, and Adobe "promised" to fix that behavior. They did not.
