Failed Package Install

We currently have a couple iMacs that fail to install packages with the error ...

Install failed: The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
It seems that the failure happens during the installation of a package rather than copying to the target computer. Also it fails on .pkgs rather than dmgs. In this case it's happening with Celtx but the bigger issue is with an AAMEE created CS6 package.

The same packages install successfully on other machines. I've tried caching and then installing from cached as well as checking the install to boot volume check box in Casper Admin. The install log seems to hint at a permissions issue but that's just a guess on my part. Below is the Casper Log as well as the install log.

Any help would be much appreciated.
