iOS Multi App Configuration

I love that I can configure iOS apps with the app config. I would also love if I can send down different configs of the same app to different smart groups. Say I have an application that has an app config to go to one url. I want to use the same app and deploy a different url to another smart group. Small app 2 different smart groups 2 different app configs. AirWatch has this feature so I know its possible.

What apps are you doing this with?

I use File Explorer to connect to smb shares. I push the shares down with app config.

Good news @kerickson ! With Jamf 10.10, you can now use Extension Attributes as App Config Variables.

This means you could create a Mobile Device Extension Attribute called 'FileExplorerSMBShare' (or whatever you want), find the EA ID # (in the URL), and use it as a variable in the App Config. You could then set this value on each mobile device record, or use a tool like the MUT to upload them en masse. You may have used $SERIALNUMBER or $USERNAME before. You can now use $EXTENSIONATTRIBUTE_<#> in a similar way.

Documentation can be found here and here.

@jamf_sam This is great thanks, I'll have to test this out.
