General Counsel

Job Description

General Counsel at Jamf will provide our senior management team with effective advice on company strategies and their implementation, manages the legal function, and obtains and oversees the work of outside counsel. Is directly involved in complex business transactions and in negotiating critical contracts.

Location: Minneapolis, MN
Travel: 10% (Some international travel may be required)

  • Provide the Board, CEO, and management with professional and strategic legal advice/analyses on matters pertaining to all aspects of the business
  • Serves as key legal advisor on all major business transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures
  • Responsibility, proficiency and significant experience dealing with state and federal securities laws and related matters
  • Structures and manages the company’s internal legal function and staff
  • Prepares, reviews and negotiates contracts
  • Ensures the company conducts its business according to applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Provides direction and has oversight for any governmental reviews and investigations
  • Oversees the selection, retention, management and evaluation of all outside counsel


  • Experience with international employment law, business contracts, and general legal dealings
  • J.D. degree and licensed in Minnesota
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably starting in a law firm environment and then an in-house position as lead legal counsel
  • Experience working on matters of corporate governance and with a board of directors
  • Broad, overview experience in intellectual property law, including patent law, licensing of IP rights and IP due diligence
  • Experience dealing with securities law issues
  • Exposure to data privacy regulations
  • Experience in the software industry
