Jamf Nation Test Engineer

Job Description

The Jamf Nation team is looking for a Test Engineer to help maintain the quality of the Jamf Nation community website (https://www.jamf.com/jamf-nation). As a Test Engineer, you will be a key member of a small team that puts the highest value on getting things done and shipping the best software possible.

You will be working with a small, tight-knit team to ensure the quality of the Jamf Nation community website. Responsibilities include locating defects, creating detailed defect reports, describing the software’s behavior in the Gherkin language, executing tests cases and recording test results in Test Rail.

By joining our team, you will be responsible for manual test development, thereby furthering our overall software quality effort. Using a Kanban development process and a rapid release cycle, we provide vital support of Jamf customers and Mac Admins around the world. Our culture is candid, solution-focused and supportive.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Jamf Nation website and value it brings to our community
  • Help create requirements and acceptance criteria for new and existing features of the Jamf Nation website
  • Use the Gherkin language to describe the software’s intended behavior
  • Create, execute and record results of reusable manual test cases using Test Rail, our test case management software
  • Using our test cases, develop test plans for major and minor releases, as well as active feature development
  • Write clear, concise, and detailed defect reports thereby enabling anyone on the team to be able to reproduce the issue
  • Perform select admin and support duties
  • Participate in agile-based meetings including: morning standups, refinement, retrospective and planning
  • Develop and maintain an internal facing Wiki
  • Interact professionally and cooperatively with colleagues
  • Be an active listener and advocate for our test suite

Qualifications

  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree (Preferred, a combination of relevant experience and education may be considered)
  • 1-2 years software experience in the area of coding or testing (Preferred)
  • Experience testing websites (Preferred)
  • General Experience with development practices like Unit Testing, Test-Driven Development, Acceptance Testing, and/or Continuous Delivery (Preferred)
  • Analytical with attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Strong and committed work ethic
  • A driven, yet humble team-player with a flexible, positive attitude
  • A preference for working in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Technical aptitude and desire for continued learning in the latest in testing methods and technology
