Apple devices in education give teachers the power to manage their classrooms, plan and distribute lessons, create assignments and more. Students and educators use iPads to enhance their educational experience. Apple Schoolwork and Apple Classroom—available on the App Store—connect with Apple School Manager to allow teachers to hit the ground running with their existing classes.

What is the Apple Schoolwork app?

The Apple Schoolwork app for iPad provides students with a central location to see assignments, submit work and view their progress. Teachers can use the app to:

  • Share class materials
  • Collaborate with students
  • View student progress
  • Make classroom announcements

Schoolwork integrates with Pages, Keynote, Numbers and other apps so students can do their assignments with powerful tools, all within the app. Teachers can give real-time feedback to students so they are on the same page about assignments and progress.

What is the Apple Classroom app?

The Classroom app, also for iPad, gives teachers the power to manage student iPads or Macs. Classroom helps keep students on track by allowing teachers to:

  • Launch any app, website or book for students
  • Lock a single app to help students focus
  • Lock screens to pause work or mute devices
  • See all student screens or focus on a single student’s screen

Additionally, Classroom makes collaboration simpler by allowing for simple document sharing via AirDrop or displaying student presentation on an Apple TV.
