VPP Resume installation (if user logs off/logs on again)?

Deployment of VPP App Store Apps to OSX 10.11.6

When I'm deploying Xcode (as an example) from Self Service, it can take a very long time. It's a big app. However, a user might just log off, or restart the Mac, during the install.

When the same user (or another user) logs in, the installation is stalled and will not continue. I can see Xcode is still attempting to be downloaded, but I cannot resume the download (either through App Store or Launchpad). Ideally I would want this to resume automatically.

Is this expected? What can be done? Is there a policy setting that I have set up incorrectly? Bug? Feature? :D

Shameless bump.

Only way I have found to get the install running again, is if we launch the VPP install through Self Service, which kicks off the full download and install again. Even if it was nearly done installing previously. This isn't very intuitive IMO and sucks for "install automatically" deployments.

Any thoughts at all? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
