Job Description

The IT Consultant will be responsible for the design and set up of internal systems, communications and email accounts and support for incident resolution. Responsibilities include selection of communications tools, design, implementation and enforcement of security practices, procurement and management of laptops for contractors working on campaigns, and assessment, escalation, research, and resolution of basic incidents and requests regarding the use of application software products, laptop and connectivity issues. A successful candidate will demonstrate an aptitude for working with applications/systems to undertake analysis, diagnosis and resolution of staff problems, which may range from straightforward to more complicated technical issues.

Must be passionate about the Democratic agenda and willing to roll up your sleeves, be adventurous, be on call 24/7 and possibly travel (we will cover the cost) for training and orientations (these will be in early June and July).

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Set up and maintain Gmail/Gsuite, Slack/Wickr, and Cloud storage for central organizations and DigiDems working for campaigns. User account management, password reset help, permission access, mailbox creation, account deletion, etc.
Procure, image and provision laptops for distribution to Digidem team. New Digidem setup and orientation.
Design, implement and enforce a reasonable security framework to protect the communications and work of DigiDems and the campaigns with which we are collaborating.
Provide day-to-day support for a 100% remote population of Digidems on technical issues as necessary. Including, but not limited to, software installation, password resets, printer connections, network connectivity, email and communication/social media issues.
Analyze and resolves incidents and requests regarding use of application software or hardware.
Maintain asset management logs and tracking of changes and allocation for all assets.
Troubleshoot basic network/internet connection issues
Must maintain regular communication and be available for critical issues (24/7)
Take ownership of user problems and follow up on the status of incidents on behalf of the user and communicate progress in a timely manner.
Publishing support documentation to assist staff with requests for information & provide staff training as required.
Must be available and willing to work extended hours (during crunch times!) per day including occasional weekends and holidays.
Must be comfortable with and fully accountable working 100% remote
Must be available for periodic travel to orientations to set up and distribute assets and provide training to new Digidems

Qualifications

Demonstrated strong troubleshooting skills for MAC OS X hardware and software.
Able to exercise discretion and keep strictest levels of confidentiality.
Familiarity with GSuite, Slack/Wickr and other standard forms of team communication & connection.
Procure, install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications
Experience implementing two-factor authentication for Apple/MAC
Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
Acting as technical expert and support for distributed team to resolve issues with systems, hardware, software.
Extensive experience troubleshooting, diagnosing and solving hardware or software issues
Setting up new user accounts and profiles and dealing with password & Security issues.
Experience supporting Technical/Product teams - ability to pick up new tools quickly
Strong Customer Service skills with a "can do" attitude are required.
