Summary

Joins Emory College IT unit of 15 IT staff to support Emory College IT infrastructure and faculty/staff. Plans and implements one or more multi-platform operating systems, utilities, and related software to meet Emory College IT needs. Ensures the availability, integrity and reliability of assigned systems.

Job Description

Plans and implements one or more muli-platform operating systems, utilities, and related software to meet organizational needs. May be responsible for applications on dedicated servers. Ensures the availability, integrity and reliability of assigned systems.

Responsibilities

Provide primary support for Emory College PC infrastructure
Configure, manage and backup dedicated windows servers and hosted applications/services
Configure, manage and support PC deployment
Configure, manage and support central printer server services
Create and deploy software packages for PC systems
Create and deploy Microsoft and third party patches for PCs
Create and maintain technical documentation
Serve as a tier II support for Emory College desktop IT staff
Interact with vendors for software/hardware purchases and implementing solutions
IT project work as required or determined by business need

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of operating systems analysis/administration experience OR a bachelor's degree and three years of operating systems analysis/administration experience.

Preferred Experience:
Five years of operating systems analysis/administration experience OR a bachelor's degree and three years of operating systems analysis/administration experience
Experience with desktop management systems such as SCCM and JAMF
Experience with Active Directory and group policy management
Experience with OS deployment leveraging tools such as SCCM, Jamf Imaging, MDT and/or PXE.
Experience with software deployment via desktop management systems; creating Deployment Types and Packages using scripts, MSI tools and Packagers.
Experience with PC command line interface
Knowledge in relevant scripting/programming languages such as PowerShell, VBS, batch. Unix/Linux scripting knowledge a plus.
Extensive experience with operating system such as Windows, mac OS, Unix and Linux
Strong skills in configuring and troubleshooting software and hardware
Knowledge of technical project management
Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
Ability to perform duties off hours when system crises arise or during scheduled maintenance
