Jamf/Microsoft partnership pays off big for bol.com

One of the largest eCommerce platforms in the Netherlands and Belgium, bol.com is always seeking better ways to deliver worry-free shopping to roughly 10 million residents in the area. Their biggest strength is also their biggest challenge: rapid growth (offering 20 million items and counting) creates the need for continual technical innovation — as well as high employee efficiency and retention.

For Thijs Xhaflaire, a system administrator at bol.com, one of the most successful innovations they engaged in was to implement Jamf Pro. Once Xhaflaire saw its capabilities, “That was my chance to hop on the Jamf Pro bus and start the journey,” he said. With Xhaflaire's enthusiastic leadership, bol.com engaged Jamf Pro to manage the company's 500 MacBook and 5 iMac devices: increasing efficiency and end-user ease.

But Xhaflaire knew they could do more, and he jumped at the chance to leverage the Jamf and Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) partnership. Thanks to this partnership, bol.com now has an automated compliance management solution for Mac devices accessing applications set up with Azure Active Directory authentication.

“It was very important for us to be able to guarantee that the managed Macs complied with our security policies, because access to sensitive information is possible from the Mac,” says Xhaflaire. “We wanted to take these concerns out of the hands of the end users and do our best to automate them as much as possible.”

“We now have 90% of our managed devices in Intune,” Xhaflaire says. While he said this is a huge win for overall device management, the biggest benefit, he believes, exists with the end users.

Whereas before implementation of this partnership, employees had separate logins for a variety of HR systems, a company service portal, customer data systems, and more. Now, employees enjoy easy access to everything with one password through single sign-on. Xhaflaire said this is a game changer, for users and his team.
