Jamf Training policies
Please keep the following policies in mind as you enroll in and attend Jamf Training sessions.
Jamf Course policies
Conduct during training
Jamf is committed to providing and maintaining a learning environment that is welcoming, engaging and respectful. We welcome questions during the training class, but please try to stay on topic. Please be respectful to the instructors and other attendees. Avoid making comments, either verbally or in a chat, that are racist, sexist, discriminatory, defamatory, obscene, harassing, insulting, hostile or not-safe-for-work (NSFW). If you make such comments or engage in other harassing, inappropriate, or disruptive behavior, Jamf reserves the right to dismiss you from the training or exam, in Jamf's sole discretion. If Jamf decides to remove you from a class, you will not be able to return to that class and you may be barred from taking future Jamf training courses and exams. In the case of such a dismissal, Jamf's sole liability will be limited to refunding fees you paid for the class or exam.
Ownership of training course materials
Jamf's training course materials, including the Keynote ("Training Materials"), are Jamf's confidential and proprietary information. Jamf owns all intellectual property rights in the Training Materials. You may only use the Training Materials as required during a Jamf training course and you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, disclose, or publish the Training Materials or use them for any other purpose. You may not alter or remove any proprietary notices or legends contained in or on any of the Training Materials or make them available to any third parties. If you violate this policy, Jamf reserves the right to immediately dismiss you from a training course, bar you from future Jamf training courses and/or deactivate your Organizational and/or Individual Training Passes (if applicable), in addition to any other remedies Jamf may have at law or in equity.
Recording policy
Recording any part of a Jamf engagement (including screen or audio recording) is strictly prohibited. Sharing, copying, posting images or reproducing the associated Training Materials in any way is prohibited.
Accommodations for individuals with disabilities
If an attendee needs an accommodation during the training course and/or the certification exam, please notify Jamf Training a minimum of twenty (20) business days prior to the first day of the training course or exam to allow for preparations to be made.
Privacy
Jamf respects our customer’s privacy and is committed to protecting personal information. We will not use personal information except as allowed by the Customer’s agreement with Jamf and our privacy policy.
Enrolling in training courses
Payment
Training courses and certification exams offered by Jamf are to be paid in full prior to the first day of the training course. Jamf accepts credit cards, purchase orders (“PO”), and Organizational or Individual Training Passes.
Prerequisites
In an effort to maintain a standard and baseline level of competency, Jamf reserves the right to require attendees to have obtained previous certification(s) to enroll in advanced training courses.
Please note: Reserving a seat for a colleague who does not yet meet the prerequisites is not allowed.
Remote Jamf Courses
Customer Requirements and Course Prerequisites
If you are participating in Jamf’s Remote Offering Training Courses (200, 240, 300, 370, 400), you must meet the related course prerequisites and also have test devices to utilize. Please check the corresponding course pages for these requirements.

You acknowledge and agree to the above requirements for participating in Jamf’s Remote Offering Training Courses. You will only utilize test (non-production) devices for the training. You assume all risk associated with use of your devices and agree that Jamf will have no liability whatsoever to you for any issues with your devices and equipment because of participating in Jamf’s Remote Offering Training courses.
In-person Jamf Courses
Please be mindful of your belongings in public spaces and take appropriate precautions. Jamf will not liable for any lost, stolen, or damaged property claims that may arise from any in-person Jamf class.
Please also remember to follow any posted rules or guidelines for using the training spaces, whether they be hosted at a Jamf office or an external facility.
Cancellations, rescheduling and expiration
Jamf cancellations
Jamf reserves the right to cancel training courses but strives to notify registrants at least four weeks in advance. If Jamf cancels a specific course that you have already registered for, you can choose from the following options:
- Request a full refund, if the training course was purchased with a credit card or PO.
- Select an alternate, available course of the same training level to attend from Jamf Account.
Jamf is not liable for any additional fees you incur, such as transportation or accommodation costs, due to Jamf canceling a course for any reason, including weather or natural disaster-related cancellations.
Customer cancellation and/or rescheduling
Jamf training course, certification retest exam, or recertification exam enrollments purchased with a credit card or PO are eligible for a full refund if you request to cancel or reschedule at least ten business days prior to the first day of the Jamf training course/exam. Customers who do not request to cancel or reschedule their Jamf training course/exam enrollments within that time frame are not eligible for a refund.
If you must cancel due to extenuating circumstances within 10 business days prior to the start of the Jamf training course/exam, Jamf may, at its discretion, allow you to reschedule and attend an alternate course of the Jamf training course/exam if an alternative is available. Customer is still not eligible for a refund. If this occurs, please reach out to Jamf Training and let us know as soon as possible.
If you are not present
- On the first and second days of four-day training courses
- On the first day of two-day training courses
- At the scheduled start time of retest exam sessions
You will be considered a no-show. In any case of a no-show, you will be removed from the class roster and not permitted to attend the remainder of the course or certification exam. In addition, your fees will be forfeited.
Expiration
Training Passes and individually purchased course seats are valid for one year from purchase date, and you must enroll and complete the course within the one-year purchase window. Any unused individual course seat(s) or unused Training Passes will expire after one year from purchase and will be forfeited.
Certification policies
Certification Exam
Jamf offers registered attendees one opportunity to take the associated certification exam.
- Jamf 200 Course: The Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf Pro exam is comprised of multiple-choice and practical tasks, administered on the last day of the course.
- Jamf 240 Course: The Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf School exam is composed of multiple-choice tasks offered within 45 days of the last days of the course.
- Jamf 300 Course: The Jamf Certified Admin - Jamf Pro exam is comprised of three (3) graded scenarios and practical tasks administered on the last day of the course.
- Jamf 370 Course: The Jamf Certified Admin - Jamf Protect exam is comprised of three (3) sections that include multiple-choice and real-world scenarios administered on the last day of the course.
- Jamf 400 Course: The Jamf Certified Expert - Jamf Pro exam is comprised of two (2) graded scenarios administered throughout the course.
Jamf allows for the use of notes (handwritten or typed) and online resources during the certification exam. However, any communication - inside or outside of the training space - during the certification exam is strictly prohibited and is grounds for immediate dismissal.
For remote Jamf courses, the camera must be on for the duration of the certification exam.
If you violate this policy, you will be asked to leave the training course and will forfeit your one opportunity to take the certification exam. Any certification that was previously awarded will be rescinded.
Exam scoring
Upon completion, the certification exam is graded automatically for multiple choice exams, or by an instructor for practical exams. Jamf uses a grading key to maintain a consistent standard. If you have questions about your exam results, you must submit them in writing within 14 days of the certification exam to Jamf Training. Jamf does not provide detailed results of questions answered on the exam. Rather, we can provide a breakdown of the exam sections, if applicable.
Jamf keeps exam results on file for one calendar year from the date of the certification exam.
Exam results
Your results will be available in Jamf Account within three business days of the completion of the certification exam. Jamf will email you when the result is available.
Jamf does not and will not share the results of the certification exam with anyone other than the registered attendee. Jamf will, in response to a written request, share whether you have obtained certification with a third party only if you have given Jamf permission to share that information. Written requests must be submitted to Jamf Training.
Opt-out
You may voluntarily opt-out of a certification exam if you do not seek Jamf certification for a particular Jamf course. However, once you opt-out, you forfeit your opportunity to take the applicable certification exam for the enrolled course. If you wish to participate in the certification exam in the future, you will need to re-enroll in the applicable Jamf course.
If you are not present on the last day of the training course, or if you do not complete an online exam in the specified timeframe, you will automatically be opted out for the associated certification exam.
Certification Retest Exam
Jamf offers retests for the following exams only:
Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf Pro: You are eligible to enroll in a Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf Pro retest exam if you meet the following criteria:
- You have taken the full Jamf 200 Course
- You have taken the Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf Pro exam that was offered at the end of the training course
- You did not obtain a passing score on the certification exam offered at the end of the training course
You must enroll and attend a Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf Pro retest exam within 90 calendar days of the last day of the training course. Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf Pro retest exams are offered remotely in a variety of time zones once per month. If you are unsuccessful in obtaining certification after the retest exam, you will need to take the training course again.
Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf School: You are eligible to enroll in a Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf School retest exam if you meet the following criteria:
- You have taken the full Jamf 240 Course
- You have taken the Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf School exam that was offered within 45 days of the last day of the course
- You did not obtain a passing score on the certification exam offered within 45 days of the last day of the course
You must enroll and attempt the Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf School retest exam within 45 calendar days of your initial attempt, but there must be a seven-calendar day period between your first and second attempts. If you are unsuccessful in obtaining certification after the retest exam, you will need to take the training course again.
Full payment for retest exams offered by Jamf is required prior to attempting them. Jamf accepts payment through credit cards, purchase orders ("POs") and Organizational or Individual Training Passes, subject to the applicable training pass policies.

Certifications
Certification is awarded by achieving a score of:
- Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf Pro > 80%
- Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf School > 75%
- Jamf Certified Admin - Jamf Pro > 80%
- Jamf Certified Admin - Jamf Protect > 80%
- Jamf Certified Expert - Jamf Pro > 80%
Validity
Certifications issued without a defined validity period are valid for the specific major version of Jamf Pro for which the exam was delivered.
Certain course Certification is valid for a specific duration of time:
- Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf Pro — valid for three years from date of issue
- Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf School — valid for three years from date of issue
- Jamf Certified Admin - Jamf Pro — valid for three years from date of issue
- Jamf Certified Admin - Jamf Protect — valid for two years from date of issue
- Jamf Certified Expert - Jamf Pro — valid for three years from date of issue
Recertification
Jamf is committed to continuously improving and enhancing our Software and Services. In order to ensure our certifications continue to reflect up-to-date knowledge, we may set time frames for expiration.
Upon achieving a certification, Jamf may require you to meet ongoing requirements to maintain your credentials and use the relevant Jamf certification badges. This may, at Jamf’s discretion, include completing recertification exams or enrolling in the latest courses at designated intervals, both of which may be subject to additional fees. Full payment for recertification exams offered by Jamf is required prior to attempting them. Jamf accepts payment through credit cards, purchase orders ("POs"), and Organizational or Individual Training Passes, subject to the applicable training pass policies.
Jamf will provide periodic notice to you, beginning at 90 days prior to certification expiration, reminding you to renew your certifications. We will provide these notices through Jamf Account or email sent to the email address provided during course registration. It is your responsibility to ensure that your email address is kept up to date in Jamf Account.
You are allowed to reattempt the recertification exam after an initial failed attempt. However, there must be a seven-calendar day period between attempts.
If you do not achieve recertification within the validity period assigned to the certification, you will lose certification status. To regain certification status, you will be required to enroll in the relevant course again and successfully complete all certification requirements.
Jamf badges and permitted usage
In recognition of your hard work and successful completion of a certification exam, Jamf may issue you Jamf Certification Badge(s) (“Jamf Badge”), either through Jamf Nation, Jamf Account or any third party, as applicable. Certain Jamf Badges will be available for the current, major versions of Jamf Pro, plus one major version back. Jamf permits you to use your Jamf Badge solely for personal purposes such as printing on your business cards or resume, and sharing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn or other personal social media profile ("Purpose").
You may only use the Jamf Badge for the Purpose if you (1) have passed the certification exam, (2) continue to comply with additional certification requirements that Jamf may now or later communicate to you and (3) use your Jamf Badge subject to the Jamf Brand Guidelines. You may not distribute, sell, alter, modify or otherwise use the Jamf Badge for a commercial purpose or any other purposes. Only Jamf may issue a Jamf Badge and Jamf reserves the right to withdraw your permission to use the Jamf Badge if you use the Jamf Badge other than as explicitly authorized.
Jamf badges or certifications are only awarded to individuals who pass the certification exam. Companies, businesses or other entities may not use Jamf Badges and may not issue Jamf Badges to any person either directly or through any third party. For example, If a Jamf-certified individual is employed by a company, their Jamf Badge cannot appear on general company communications including advertisements, brochures, online promotions, social media, or other entity-wide communications. If a company or other entity wants to recognize its employees' accomplishment in passing a Jamf certification exam, it may do so in text, using a statement such as “We employ Apple IT admins certified in administering Jamf product and services.”
Training Pass policies
Organizational Training Pass
- Limited to a single organization and cannot be shared across multiple organizations.
- Limited to five employees within your organization.
- Once an individual has enrolled and taken a course, that individual is then assigned to the pass and cannot be unassigned and cannot be substituted with another individual.
- The Organizational Training Pass may be used by one individual at a time. This means that one seat can be reserved in any one available course during a week's time.
Individual Training Pass
- Limited to one individual and cannot be shared within an organization.
- Once an individual has enrolled and taken a course, that individual is then assigned to the pass and cannot be unassigned and cannot be substituted for another individual.
Training Pass usage
The Individual and Organizational Training Passes allow the customer to enroll in the following instructor-led training courses:
- Jamf 200 Course
- Jamf 300 Course
- Jamf 370 Course
- Jamf 400 Course
The customer may also enroll in the following retest exams (subject to meeting prerequisites as detailed in our Jamf course policies):
- Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf Pro
The customer may also enroll in the following recertification exams (subject to meeting prerequisites as detailed in our Jamf course policies):
- Jamf Certified Tech - Jamf Pro
- Jamf Certified Admin - Jamf Pro
- Jamf Certified Admin - Jamf Protect
- Jamf Certified Expert - Jamf Pro
Cancellations, rescheduling and expiration
Training passes are valid for one year from the purchase date, and you must enroll and complete the course within the one-year purchase window. Any unused training passes will expire after one year from purchase and will be forfeited.
Jamf training course, certification retest exam, or recertification exam enrollments via Organizational and Individual Training Passes are allowed two late cancellations/no-shows during the term of the training pass. A third late cancellation/no-show will result in the deactivation of the Training Pass.
A late cancellation means providing a cancellation notice/request to reschedule to Jamf less than 10 business days prior to the start of the training course or certification/retest exam.
A no-show means not being present a) on the first and second days of four-day training courses; b) on the first day of two-day training courses; or c) at the scheduled start time of retest exam sessions. In any case of a no-show, you will be removed from the class roster and not permitted to attend the remainder of the course or certification exam. In addition, your fees will be forfeited.
You may change the enrolled student for another individual within your organization at any time prior to the start of the training course. Prerequisites apply.
Jamf Course policies apply.
Private Course policies
- Private courses are offered at a flat rate.
- Private courses are limited to 12 attendees.
- All attendees must meet the stated course prerequisites, if applicable.
For an In-Person hosted private class, the organization purchasing must provide a suitable venue. A suitable venue means:
- Able to accommodate 12 students and one instructor at a minimum, with the following additional, minimum hosting requirements:
- A minimum of three feet/one meter of table space and one electrical outlet per student.
- Visual aids including a projector and a large screen or HD television, whiteboard or flipchart and markers.
- Reliable networking capability, including an internet connection capable of receiving 10.0 Mbps and sending 5.0 Mbps and full accessibility to Apple’s Push Notification Services.
An organization purchasing a private course may distribute or resell the course seats; however, all attendees are subject to meeting the stated course prerequisites.
Additional policies:
- Auditing and recording in any form is prohibited.
- Private courses offered by Jamf must be paid in advance and are non-refundable. We require six weeks prior notice for any schedule changes. Cancellations within six weeks prior to the course start date are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. In the event that a private course must be canceled due to extenuating circumstances within six weeks of the course start date, Jamf may, at its discretion, allow the course to be rescheduled.
