Jamf Training Course Policies

Training Course Documentation

Jamf's training course materials, including the keynote, are Jamf's confidential and proprietary information and are protected by applicable copyright laws. Such materials may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, disclosed or published by Customer or utilized for any purpose other than as required during a training course. Customer may not alter or remove any proprietary notices or legends contained in or on any of the training course materials. Violation of this policy may result in immediate dismissal from a training course, barred from future Jamf training courses and/or deactivation of Organizational and/or Individual Training Passes (if applicable), in addition to any other remedies Jamf may have at law or in equity.

Accommodations for Individuals with Disabilities

If a disability qualifies the Customer for special accommodations during the training course and/or the certification exam in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or other applicable laws within your region or country, please notify Education Services a minimum of twenty (20) business days prior to the first day of the training course to allow for preparations to be made.

Privacy

Jamf respects our Customer’s privacy and is committed to protecting personal information. We will not use personal information except as allowed by our Privacy Policy, as the same may be changed from time to time.

Enrolling in Training Courses

Payment:
Training courses and certification exams offered by Jamf (JAMF Software LLC) are to be paid in full prior to the first day of the training course. Jamf accepts credit card, purchase order (PO), and Organizational or Individual Training Passes.

Prerequisites:
In an effort to maintain a standard and baseline level of competency, Jamf reserves the right to require Customers to have obtained previous certification in order to enroll in advanced training courses.

Please note: Reserving a seat for a colleague or staff member that does not yet meet the prerequisites is not allowed.

* * Casper Suite version 9 certification satisfies corresponding prerequisites for Jamf Pro courses. * *

Course Prerequisites:

  • Jamf 100 Course
    • No prerequisites
  • Jamf 200 Course
    • No prerequisites
      • Jamf 100 Course (strongly recommended)
  • Jamf 300 Course
    • Attendee must hold one (1) of the following certifications:
        • Jamf Certified Tech or
        • Jamf Certified Admin or
        • Casper Certified Technician (CCT) v9 or
        • Casper Certified Admin (CCA) v9 or
        • Casper Certified Expert (CCE) v9
  • Jamf 400 Course
    • Attendee must hold one (1) of the following certifications:
      • Jamf Certified Admin or
      • Jamf Certified Expert or
      • Casper Certified Admin (CCA) v9 or
      • Casper Certified Expert (CCE) v9

Customers Requiring Visas:
If a Customer requires a Visa to attend a training course or certification exam, it is recommended the application be completed 10 to 12 weeks prior to the first day of the course or exam. Visa requirements vary per country, therefore, it is the Customer’s responsibility to research and understand their country requirements prior to registering for a training course or certification exam. Customers who do not obtain the required documentation will still be held to the cancellation policy as outlined. To request a Visa Invitation letter, please send a written request to Education Services. Invitation letters will be provided only after the Customer is fully enrolled in a training course or certification exam and paid in full.

Jamf is not liable for lost, stolen or damaged property.

Cancelling and Rescheduling

Jamf Cancellations:
Jamf reserves the right to cancel training courses, but strives to notify Customers at least four (4) weeks in advance.

In this instance, Customers who have already registered for a specific training course can choose from the following options:

  1. Request a full refund if training course was purchased with credit card or PO.
  2. Select an alternate, available course of the same training level to attend from the Jamf Nation Store.

Jamf is not liable for any fees incurred due to a course cancellation, including, but not limited to, weather or natural disaster, cancellation penalties for transportation and/or accommodations.

Customer Cancellations:
Course enrollments purchased with credit card or purchase order (PO) are eligible for a full refund if the cancellation is made at least ten (10) business days prior to the first day of the training course. Customers who do not cancel their scheduled course enrollment as outlined will be responsible for the full amount due.

In the event a Customer must cancel due to extenuating circumstances within ten (10) business days prior to the start of the training course or certification/retest exam, Jamf may, at it's discretion, allow the Customer to reschedule and attend an alternate course of the same training course level. If this occurs, please reach out to Education Services and let us know as soon as possible.

Jamf training course and certification/retest exam enrollments via Organizational and Individual Training Passes are allowed two (2) late cancellations*/no shows** during the term of the Training Pass. A third (3) late cancellation/no show will result in deactivation of the Training Pass.

*Late cancellation - Providing cancellation notice less than ten (10) business days prior to the start of the training course or certification/retest exam.
**No show - Not present on the first (1) and second (2) days of the Training Course. Customer will be removed from the class roster if not present on the first (1) and second (2) days or not present for the certification retest exam.

Registrant substitutions may be made at any time prior to the start of the training course. Prerequisites apply.

Certification Exam

Jamf offers registered Customers one (1) opportunity to take the associated certification exam. If a Customer is enrolled in a Jamf 200 Course or Jamf 300 Course they will be offered an opportunity to take the associated exam on day four (4) of the training course. The Jamf 400 Course does not have an associated certification exam, but rather throughout the course, Customers obtain points towards certification.

Jamf allows for the use of notes (hand written or typed) and online resources during the certification exam. However, any communication - inside or outside of the training site - during the certification exam is strictly prohibited and is grounds for immediate dismissal.

If a Customer is found to have violated this policy, they will be asked to leave the training course and will have forfeited their one (1) opportunity to take the certification exam. Any certification that was previously awarded will be rescinded.

Exam Scoring:
Upon completion, the certification exam is graded by the instructor. In order to maintain a consistent standard, a grading key is used. Exam results are kept on file for one (1) calendar year from the date of the certification exam.

Exam Results:
Within three (3) business days an email will be sent to the Customer with their exam results.

  • Certification exams taken on a Thursday - Results are emailed no later than end of business the following Tuesday.
  • Certification exams taken on a Friday - Results are emailed no later than end of business the following Wednesday.

Jamf does not and will not share the results of the certification exam with anyone other than the registered Customer. Jamf will however share if a Customer has obtained or not obtained certification. Written requests must be submitted to Education Services.

Opt-Out:
Customers are not required to participate in the exam if they do not wish to seek certification. In this instance, the Customer may opt-out and must sign the certification exam before leaving the training site. An opt-out is available for the following certification exams:

  • Jamf Certified Tech
  • Jamf Certified Server Admin
  • Jamf Certified Admin

Customers not present on day four (4) of the training course results in an automatic opt-out for the associated certification exam.

Certification Retest Exam:
Jamf offers retests for the Jamf Certified Tech exam only.

A Customer is eligible to enroll into a retest exam if they meet all of the following criteria:

  • Customer has taken the full (four day) Jamf 200 Course
  • Customer did not obtain a passing score on the certification exam offered at the end of the training course
  • Customer has taken the Jamf Certified Tech exam that was offered at the end of the training course

Enrollment into a retest exam must occur within 120 calendar days of the last day of the training course.

Jamf Certified Tech retest exam are offered in home offices once per month. Jamf home offices are located in Amsterdam, London, New York City, Minneapolis, Cupertino and Sydney.

If a Customer is unsuccessful in obtaining certification after the retest exam, the Customer will need to take the training course again.

Certifications

Certification is awarded by achieving a score of:

  • Jamf Certified Tech > 75%
  • Jamf Certified Admin > 80%
  • Jamf Certified Server Admin > 80%
  • The Jamf Certified Expert > 80%

Jamf Nation Badge:
Upon successful completion of the exam, badges are assigned to the email account used during registration. Certification badges will be available for the current, major versions of Jamf Pro, plus one (1) major version back. Anything prior to major version 9 of the Casper Suite will not be displayed.

Validity:
Certification is valid for the specific major version of Jamf Pro for which the exam was delivered. Certifications earned on Casper Suite 9.x is valid only on Casper Suite 9.x and is not valid on Jamf Pro 10.x. Certifications obtained on Jamf Pro 10.x is valid until Jamf Pro 11.x is released.
