SSO in Jamf School
Jamf School now fully supports Single Sign-On (SSO) integration via Jamf Account, streamlining authentication and enhancing security across all Jamf products.

Seamless access to Jamf School with Jamf Account SSO integration
At Jamf, we’re committed to making your experience smooth and efficient. That’s why we’re excited to share an update on Single Sign-On (SSO) integration for Jamf School.
Introducing Jamf Account SSO integration
We know some users have encountered additional login steps recently, and we appreciate the feedback. The good news? Jamf School now fully supports Identity Provider (IdP) integration via Jamf Account, creating a more seamless SSO experience across all Jamf products.
What is Jamf Account and how does it relate to authentication?
Jamf Account is a central hub at account.jamf.com where you manage your organization's settings and user information. While you can log in to Jamf Account, it’s not an authentication method itself. Think of it as a management console rather than a login credential—users don’t have “a Jamf Account.” Instead, they log in with Jamf ID or through an identity provider connected via Jamf Account.
Jamf Account also provides access to Jamf Nation for community support, Jamf Training to develop skills and earn certifications and new services such as Blueprints. SSO support is part of our future rollout to enhance your experience.
What does this mean for you?
-
New customers: If you're setting up SSO for the first time, you can now configure your IdP directly through Jamf Account.

What to expect with the new login experience
Jamf School login will now require:
-
Enter your email address on the new login page (your browser may save this, depending on your settings).
-
Confirm your email address and enter your password on the next page. This workflow ensures proper integration with your chosen IdP.
Note: This feature has been rolling out since March 2025. All users now have access to configure Single Sign-On.
Best practices for logging into Jamf School
To ensure the best experience, access Jamf School through your school or partner instance URL (e.g., nameofinstance.jamfcloud.com

Simplifying Admin Login: A Better Way to Access Jamf School with Jamf ID
At Jamf, we’re always looking for ways to streamline the experience for IT administrators — especially when it comes to accessing the tools you use every day. That’s why we’re updating the login process for Jamf School to make it easier, faster and more secure for admins to log in using their Jamf ID — without needing support assistance.
What's Changing?
Today, if an admin has both a Jamf School account and a Jamf ID, logging in can be confusing. In many cases, admins are redirected to the Jamf School account login page, even if they prefer to use their Jamf ID. To fix this, we’re improving the login flow to make Jamf ID the primary method if you have one.
Current Login Flow
Here’s how the login process works today:
- You enter your email address.
- Jamf School checks:
- Do you have an Identity Provider (IdP)? → You're redirected to the IdP login page.
- Do you have a Jamf School account? → You're redirected to the Jamf School Account login page.
- If neither applies → You're redirected to the Jamf ID login page.
This means that even if you do have a Jamf ID, you may end up logging in through your Jamf School Account instead (unless support manually removes that account for you).
New Login Flow: What to Expect
We’re updating this to prioritize Jamf ID when it exists. After the update:
- You enter your email address.
- Jamf School checks:
- Do you have an Identity Provider (IdP)? → You're redirected to the IdP login page.
- Do you have a Jamf ID? → You're redirected to the Jamf ID login page.
- If neither applies → You're redirected to the Jamf School Account login page.
This change ensures that if you have a Jamf ID (and no IdP), you’ll be redirected straight to the Jamf ID login page, even if you also have a Jamf School account.
What This Means for You
Let’s look at a few examples:
Example 1: Admin with a Jamf School Account only
- Before: Redirected to Jamf School login
- After: Still redirected to Jamf School login (no change)
Example 2: Admin with a Jamf ID only (no IdP or Jamf School Account)
- Before: Redirected to Jamf ID login
- After: Still redirected to Jamf ID login (no change)
Example 3: Admin with both Jamf School Account and Jamf ID (no IdP)
- Before: Redirected to Jamf School login (unless manually changed by support)
- After: Redirected to Jamf ID login automatically
Why This Matters
- No more support requests to switch your login method.
- One consistent experience with Jamf ID across products.
- Improved security and identity management.
- Faster access to the tools you use every day.
This small change leads to a big improvement in how you interact with Jamf School.
If you've not yet deployed SSO, here's your chance to integrate this feature today!
