Thinking Big: Scaling JSS Infrastructures for the Mobile Workforce

The paneled discussion examined the tough decisions that IT has to make when planning for the growth of Apple devices in their environment.

Dusty Dorey led a panel discussion this morning on the decisions that IT make when planning for the growth of Apple devices, such as scaling to meet the demands of an ever growing and highly mobile workforce is a challenge for any organization. The panel addressed this topic by examining how be handle network traffic, clustering servers, and cloud hosting options.

Crowd members were able to get expert answers from the panelists on when and how to best scale their infrastructure. Each panelist detailed their networks and how they have optimized it. Those networks ranged from roughly 200 devices being manage by Mac Mini servers to thousands of devices with their JSS being hosted in large data centers.

The panel participants were Ben Toms, Jehan Aziz, Andrew Seago, Tom Larkin, Amanda Wulff, and Mike Paul.
