Announcing Web Protection for Jamf Now

Web Protection for Jamf Now

Web Protection combines best-in-class web threat prevention and an extensive content-filtering database, on supervised iOS and iPadOS devices with iPadOS or iOS 16 or later, to block unsafe content and malicious attacks such as malware or phishing.

Web content filtering

Web Protection helps prevent users from accessing prohibited or risky content on protected devices. It works device-wide, blocking access regardless of what app or browser is used.

The following categories are filtered with Web Protection:

• Adult content
• Gambling content

Web threat prevention

Web Protection helps prevent threats and protect users and devices within your device fleet. This additional layer of security is achieved with Jamf’s advanced machine learning (ML) and threat intelligence engine, which blocks known and novel phishing attacks, cryptojacking, and risky or malicious domains in real time before devices are impacted including:

• Phishing protection
  • Block known and novel phishing attacks in real time before users are compromised
• Ransomware protection
  • Block known real-world ransomware installation URLs from compromising endpoints and putting critical or sensitive company data at risk
• Cryptojacking protection
  • Block known cryptojacking servers to prevent crypto mining and protect system resources.
• Malware domain protection
  • Block known malware domains to prevent access to malicious downloads and services.
• Command and Control (C2) Server Traffic protection
  • Block malicious command and control servers to prevent remote control and data exfiltration.

Enable Web Protection for iPad and iPhone

It’s easy to enable Web Protection in Jamf Now:

1. Log in to Jamf Now.
2. Click Blueprints.
3. Click on the Blueprint you want to edit.
4. Click Security.
5. Select the Enable web protection checkbox.
6. Click Save Changes.

Web Protection is installed on all iPadOS and iOS devices associated with the selected Blueprint.
