How Jamf supports M1 Macs in K-12 education
Apple’s M1 chip made enterprise waves as it came on the scene in 2020. As K-12 schools upgrade their technology this year and invest funds in expanding their Mac fleet, they must ensure that their educational technology stack and applications are optimized for Macs using the M1 chip.
The Jamf Teacher app for Jamf School gives teachers the tools to manage their classes. It runs natively on both Intel or M1-based Macs as well as on mobile devices—giving IT admins the ability to use their full Mac inventory while giving teachers and students all the benefits of the Jamf Teacher app for Jamf School.
The Jamf Teacher app complements Jamf School, a purpose-built mobile device management (MDM) solution for schools, which is also compatible with the M1 and Intel chip.
This means a seamless experience for teachers using the Jamf Teacher app for Jamf School on a Mac, regardless of the age of their devices. It also makes things a whole lot easier for Mac admins to manage fleets containing both M1 chips and Intel chips.
