Jamf at HIMSS: human-centric healthcare technology
Jamf offers a recap of the top themes and insights from HIMSS 2025.

The HIMSS 2025 conference was a gathering of thought leaders, healthcare providers, and tech innovators, all focused on one central theme: the transformative power of technology in healthcare. Over the course of the event, key sessions highlighted significant advancements and the challenges of integrating new technologies to improve both the patient and clinician experience. Here’s a recap of the top themes and insights from HIMSS 2025.
Patient-centric care powered by technology
Healthcare is evolving, and so too are patients' expectations. It’s no longer just about having the latest tech—it’s about ensuring that technology works for the patient, reducing the friction they often experience during their healthcare journey.
From the use of smart room technology to create transformative healing environments to streamlining processes like pre-visit check-ins and online payments, the message was clear: Healthcare must embrace innovation that empowers patients and enhances their overall experience.
This focus goes beyond convenience—it’s about creating an empathetic experience: one that reduces physical, emotional, and cognitive effort for patients while providing intuitive, personalized digital solutions. And just as importantly, these technologies must never add additional burdens to clinicians, ensuring that patient care remains compassionate and high quality.
Innovate with a security-first mindset
As healthcare becomes more digital, thought leaders emphasized the need to adopt new technologies with a security-first approach. Jason Barr from ID.me highlighted the growing threat of cyberattacks, noting that 81% of healthcare data breaches start with stolen credentials. This statistic highlights the urgent need for stronger authentication systems.
A key topic discussed was Federated Identity. By allowing healthcare systems to manage multiple logins and offer more secure, portable authentication methods, organizations can reduce friction for both patients and providers while better protecting sensitive data. Adopting multi-factor authentication can also help defend against evolving threats like synthetic IDs and deep fakes, which are becoming more sophisticated with the rise of technologies such as generative AI.
Digital transformation is people, process and technology
Healthcare organizations are under immense pressure to modernize, but digital transformation is no easy feat. At HIMSS 2025, the focus was on creating systems that simplify and streamline workflows for both patients and clinicians.
At MUSC Health, Chief Digital Transformation Officer Crystal Broj emphasized that digital transformation is not just about technology—it’s about aligning people, processes, and technology to work together. One of the standout examples was ambient technology designed to automate documentation and reduce clinician workload. This technology frees up valuable time, allowing healthcare providers to focus on care rather than administrative tasks.
Healthcare organizations like MUSC are eliminating manual steps in the patient journey, such as clipboard forms, by enabling patients to complete forms, check in and even pay bills online. This approach not only saves 5,000 hours of staff time per month but also enhances patient satisfaction—a win-win scenario.
During the conference, we had the opportunity to sit down and connect with one of our customers, Diogo Delgado, Systems Analyst at UCSF, to discuss how technology has played a crucial role in improving care team satisfaction. He emphasized the importance of adopting patient-centric workflows and support models to improve clinical staff satisfaction. "Jamf has enabled us to quickly reset devices within the hospital," said Delgado. "By removing the burden of device resets from clinical staff when changing patient assignments, we've reduced device turnover time from 30-40 minutes to just 3-5 minutes."
Agentic AI: revolutionizing healthcare operations
AI continues to be one of the most exciting frontiers in healthcare, with Agentic AI standing out as a powerful tool to revolutionize operations and improve the clinician experience. Agentic AI, also known as AI Agents, are goal-driven software entities that use AI techniques to complete tasks and achieve goals. They don’t require explicit inputs and don’t produce predetermined outputs. Instead, they ingest vast amounts of data from multiple data sources and third-party applications to independently analyze challenges, develop strategies and execute tasks.
Moveworks, a company specializing in AI-driven solutions, demonstrated how AI assistants can help streamline workflows by enabling healthcare teams to access centralized information across HR, IT and facility systems—reducing the complexity of interacting with multiple disconnected systems.
In practice, these AI tools can help reduce call volumes (such as those related to EHR questions) by providing staff with quick access to relevant information like tip sheets—ultimately saving time and improving service.
Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative AI have empowered healthcare organizations to develop AI solutions that understand human intent, making it easier for healthcare workers to resolve tasks efficiently. This alleviates the daily burdens healthcare teams face while improving productivity and satisfaction.
A digital future for healthcare
HIMSS 2025 highlighted the exciting possibilities for healthcare as it becomes more digitized, secure, and patient-centric. The integration of cutting-edge technologies—ranging from Agentic AI to Federated Identity systems—has the potential to revolutionize how care is delivered, both for patients and clinicians.
However, successful digital transformation requires more than just the latest tools—it requires a holistic approach that prioritizes empowering patients, supporting clinicians and ensuring data security. As healthcare organizations continue their journey toward digital transformation, HIMSS 2025 served as a reminder that technology—when used thoughtfully and strategically—can greatly improve the care experience for everyone involved.
