Jamf After Dark: Jamf ID, Jamf Account, Jamf updates and new features, oh my!
Get an inside look at changes coming to Jamf Cloud: AI Assistant, blueprints and Compliance Benchmarks.

Co-hosts Kat Garbis and Sean Rabbitt are joined by William (Bill) Smith, Technical Enablement Manager at Jamf, to talk about updates and new features related to Jamf ID and Jamf Account. Smith, known by Mac Admins as talkingmoose, uses his expertise to explain the new additions to Jamf products.
What is Jamf ID?
When admins log into Jamf for device management or security, they are logging into their Jamf Account. Jamf Account provide access to certain downloads, activation codes, training courses and more. You may log in via your integrated identity provider (IdP) or via Jamf ID.
In this episode, Garbis, Rabbitt and Smith give us a sneak peek at changes coming related to your Jamf Account and Jamf ID. New services are coming that can only be accessed with logging into the Jamf Cloud with your Jamf ID or integrated IdP.
New Features Coming to Jamf Cloud
Smith explains the new "ABCs" of features coming soon that were announced at JNUC 2024. We'll summarize them here — check out the episode for the inside scoop!
Artificial Intelligence
The AI Assistant will be built right into Jamf to help with management issues or other queries you might have about your fleet. This assistant contains a large knowledge base about Jamf products and features, and it will gather, analyze and organize this data to best solve your issue.

Blueprints
Blueprints, powered by Declarative Device Management, are a "game changer," as Smith says. Blueprints will make managing device settings, commands, app installations and restrictions simpler for seasoned and new admins alike.
Compliance Benchmarks
Compliance Benchmarks are built on the macOS Security Compliance Project and Jamf Compliance Editor to simplify building, managing, auditing and reporting on benchmark compliance. CIS benchmarks are supported on release, with other benchmarks forthcoming.
These features are currently available in beta.
What Changes Do I Need to Make?
Depending on how you authenticate with Jamf, you may not need to take any action. If you have no IdP, and therefore authenticate with a Jamf ID, you don't need to do anything. If you do have an IdP, you'll need to make sure your Single Sign-On (SSO) settings are configured correctly. Smith goes into detail in the episode, but essentially, admins should:
- Select their Jamf Cloud instance name in SSO settings.
- Turn on OIDC authentication.
- Determine if end users need SAML authentication enabled for Self Service, for example.
Ideally, admins should open up a private window/browser to check their SSO login works before leaving their instance. If they do get locked out of their account, Jamf Support can assist.
