Introducing Jamf Pro 10.16

Jamf Pro 10.16 is now available and includes education enhancements, User Enrollment updates and certificate lifecycle management improvements. Learn more.

With the Jamf Nation User Conference (JNUC) just a few weeks away, we’re excited to be launching our final Jamf Pro update before the big event. Today, Jamf Pro 10.16 is generally available!

2019 has been a year of doubling-down on our support for education institutions and end-user privacy. This new release takes our education-specific functionality to new heights, evolves our support for User Enrollment, and adds the ability to manage the entire lifecycle of a DigiCert certificate.

Enhancements for education

We have made a number of significant investments in how we serve education institutions this year. To continue that work, we are improving the Teacher App Request workflow so that administrators can customize the form design, allowing them to more precisely gather needed information from teachers as the request is being filled out.

For educators, this will make their app request process more tailored to their organization’s needs and help cut down on unnecessary information collection. That means less time spent filling out forms and more time to invest in their students and classes.

Admins using the Jamf Parent app will also love the new ability to group devices by “parented” status. This allows you to efficiently search for and address devices that are overseen by Jamf Parent.

User Enrollment

One of the most exciting messages to come out of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event this year was a new way to empower your end users to bring personal devices into the workplace. Bring your own device (BYOD) programs are more common than ever but concern remains around corporate security and end-user privacy. User Enrollment addresses both by giving administrators baseline management capability while protecting the end user's data and device rights.

User Enrollment first became available in Jamf Pro this September as a preview feature. With this new release, we are adding the ability to see how a device was enrolled when looking at inventory results. This is important for anyone who is testing User Enrollment adoption or has existing devices already managed using Personal Device Profiles.

Certificate lifecycle management

Previously, admins could issue certificates with Jamf Pro. Today, we’re overhauling this workflow so that admins can do more than ever natively inside the product when managing DigiCert certificates. With Jamf Pro 10.16, you can issue, automatically renew and revoke DigiCert certificates with a few clicks.

Certificate management is an important way that admins can improve their organization’s security posture. With this upgraded workflow, DigiCert certificates are more versatile and streamlined than ever.

Next steps

Jamf Pro 10.16 also adds Spanish language support, a number of new payloads and more. For more detail, check out our release notes.
