Work smarter, love more with macOS Ventura release

Apple have released macOS Ventura and iPadOS 16 and it's chock full of great features. Are you ready to upgrade?

There was no second Apple event this year to coincide with the release of Apple’s latest additions to their iPad line — and unlikely to be one for their Mac hardware release — as we got with their “Far Out” Event in September and have become slightly used to. But that didn’t stop Apple from releasing their latest operating system additions — iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura — chock full of productivity improvements, security enhancements, accessibility advancements and some new mobile device management capabilities.

These two operating systems bring plenty to be excited about. Whether you’re someone most interested in that seamless user experience, now enhanced by the likes of Stage Manager or Continuity Camera, or you’re looking toward Rapid Security Response and a future filled with Declarative Device Management or Platform SSOe potential, it’s easy to see why Apple landed on their tagline of “Works smarter. Plays harder. Goes farther” for macOS Ventura. Both new operating systems stand to improve the Apple experience for both users and Apple Admins.

As we fully embrace a world in which our end users want to love the devices they use at work the same way they love the devices they are using in their personal lives, and organizations find ways to provide that experience while ensuring they can fully trust that only users on enrolled, safe devices can access company data, Apple’s yearly release of free OS upgrades and improvements are a staple of that progress.

With new operating systems come new demands on our IT departments and admins to be ready to support users, and Jamf was ready as always to support admins with same-day compatibility.

Upgrade when you are ready

While a new Operating System is exciting, we understand admins may want to delay upgrading to test critical apps or infrastructure before rolling out new operating systems. macOS Managed Software Updates allows admins to do just that, and is now available for M2 Macs. This allows a major release (like Ventura) to be deferred up to 90 days, while important security updates and minor macOS versions are still available for users to install.

Put the latest and greatest in your users hands on your time

Ready to offer upgrades?

Jamf is prepared with same-day support for macOS Ventura today. Whether you want to make the new operating system available to your team today or delay OS upgrades to take time to test and validate, Jamf has your back.

Simplify your upgrading process
